Review: Nyx Extra Creamy Lipstick Collection + SWATCHES!!

Hello everyone! Today I wanted to take some time to talk about the Nyx Extra Creamy Lipsticks. I feel like not enough people talk about these considering they're so great. I only own 7 of these and I tend to reach for these the most out of my lipstick collection. Here are my impressions of them: Formulation- They call them "extra creamy" for a reason. They glide onto the lips so easily and your lips never feel dry with these on. You do need to be careful not to smudge them around for that reason though, so I do recommend you use them with a lipliner. Pigmentation - These are super pigmented. Like, one swipe is all you need kind of pigmented. I love it. Colour range - As usual, Nyx is pretty great with their colour range. You have a good selection here for all skin tones, as well as if you're looking for a bold in-your-face colour or a standard nude. Scent/taste - Yeah, that's probably the thing I dislike about these. They have a weird soapy/sunscr

One Brand Favourites: Nyx

Hi guys! So today, I thought I'd talk to you all a bit about my favourite products from Nyx. Nyx only became available in Canadian stores this year and they have quickly become one of my favourite brands. While I still haven't tried all of their products (I have my eye on the Lip Lingerie liquid lipsticks that are only available online!), I have tried a good amount and I have many favourites that you all NEED to add to your collection! 1) Soft Matte Lip Creams There is no surprise here. I am pretty obsessed with these. As far as drugstore matte liquid lipstick goes, these are the best. They also come in a great variety of colours, so whether you're looking for a vampy, dark mauve or a subtle nude, they have what you're looking for. The lasting power is great, and I don't find them to be overly drying. Overall, they're a must-have if you want to up your matte lip game without spending a ton! 2) Prismatic Eyeshadows For me, these were love at first

My Experience at the L'Oreal Spring 2016 Private Sale

This was my first time going to one of the L'Oreal private sales, so it's safe to say I was pretty excited. I love going to warehouse sales, and since I'm on a bit of a budget (college students, you feel me?), finding some good deals sounds pretty exciting to me. I went on a Thursday evening, so thankfully I did not have to wait in line, as I probably would have had I came earlier in the day or on the weekend. Just because there was no line did not mean there was not many people; oh no. It was super crowded and chaotic: which lets be honest, is half the fun of a warehouse sale. So, here's what I've gathered from this sale as well as some helpful tips if you're considering attending one. -Do not go in expecting mind blowing deals. Yes, you will find some great sales. For example, I left with a handful of Nyx lipsticks which were 2 for 1, nail polish was 2 for $3 and other daily/weekly promotions. However not everything was extremely marked down. -Which

Nyx 'Soft Matte Lip Cream' Review

If you look through my lipstick stash, you'd notice that I own a LOT of burgundy/dark berry shades. This is because I spent a lot of time (and money) looking for the perfect one. It took a while, but I found it. And that was Nyx's Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen. This product is perfect for me. The colour suits my skin tone perfectly and is the perfect dark red that isn't too vampy, but just the right amount of sexy, dark and dramatic. Aside from the colour, there are many reasons to love this product. The reasons that led me to buy 3 other shades as well. The other 3 I have are Monte Carlo, which is your standard, bright red lip, Transylvania, a deep berry/merlot colour and San Paulo, a peachy/coral pink. The lasting power is great. It lasts for a long time without fading so you wont be constantly reapplying. Contrary to most matte lip products, it doesn't dry out your lips and it also doesn't cling to every little dry patch on your lips. So you can ju

January Favourites!

Hey everyone! I'm a bit late on my favourites this month (blame school!) but I have a ton of things that I LOVED this month so this will be a long one! If you would like a longer, more in depth review of any of the products I've mentioned, let me know in the comments and I will definitely do one! Makeup: Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation I've been using the Too Faced 'Born This Way' foundation pretty steadily since the summer so I was looking to try something new this month and I found a great one. This foundation has the nicest texture and gives incredible coverage. The staying power is also pretty great for a drugstore foundation.   Nyx High Voltage Lipsticks These lipsticks are so incredible that I've gone back to purchase more about 3 times. I own around 6 of them now and I'm so in love with them. They do everything you want from a lipstick: they're creamy and hydrating, they have a great lasting power and the best thing about them

My 2015 Makeup and Beauty Favourites!

Hey everyone! So as 2015 comes to a close, I've gathered up all my favourite makeup products from this year into one big post! So here are the products that I loved ALL year and were my absolute favourites. I'll also be writing full reviews for each one of these products throughout the month of January for those of you who would like to know more! Too Faced Born This Way Foundation By far the best foundation I've used probably ever. I love this stuff. I have dry skin so finding a good foundation is usually pretty hard for me since it always tends to settle in a very obvious way on my skin which is not the effect I'm going for... This foundation looks so natural, and also offers great coverage. Awesome. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara This mascara might just be my holy grail mascara. Does everything a good mascara should do; adds volume, length and curl. I probably used it almost every day this year (except for the past couple weeks because I've run ou

My November Favourites! (Blogmas Day 1)

Hello there! Welcome to the beginning of a brand new month and also the first day of Blogmas! No better way to start a new month than to share what I loved throughout last month! I haven't done a favourites post is quite a while and there was a lot of new products I tried (and loved) during the month of November! So here we go.... 1) Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in 'Copenhagen' Anyone who knows me knows I've been on the hunt for the perfect autumnal dark red lip colour. Seriously, I think I own about 8 wine-coloured lipsticks that I bought, tried a few times and liked, but ultimately were not exactly what I was looking for. Well I can finally say that I've found it. The perfect dark wine/berry lip. I also totally adore Nyx's Soft Matte Lip Cream formulations (seriously, if you haven't tried them, definitely pick one up! They have tons of different colours and they're incredible) 2) Benefit Erase Paste An oldie but I goodie. I used to be in lo

A Month In Review: September Highlights

Happy October lovelies! My favourite month of the year has rolled in and I am in total autumnal bliss as the colder temperatures and coloured leaves are moving in. How September passed by so quickly, I truly have no idea. I usually whip together a monthly favourites post at the end of each month, but I honestly have not tried enough products to write a decently long blog post, so I figured I'd try something different. Just a quick look-back at the highlights of my month; I baked my first rainbow cake! I baked a rainbow cake for my sisters birthday this year and it was such a fun experience! The best part is the anticipation of seeing what it'll look like once its cut! I took the first step to getting help with my anxiety This month I finally spoke to my doctor about what I can do to get help for my anxiety and panic attacks. I've been considering talking to someone about it for so long now and it was honestly relieving to finally do it. I made an appointment to see

August Favourites

Another month has ended, and with it brings tons of more amazing products that I've loved all month long! Here's what I loved the most: Too Faced Born This Way foundation I'll probably write a full, in-depth review of this product but OMG. This foundation has taken the #1 spot in my list of favourite foundations. Its honestly so incredible and I've been using it every day. I'd recommend it to anyone. I can't get enough of it. It looks so natural, feels so lightweight and nice on the skin, yet offers great coverage. Lush R&B Hair moisturizer It's been super hot and humid in August where I live, and that usually causes my hair to be out of control and frizzy but this product has honestly saved me. Besides the fact that it smells soooo nice, it makes my hair manageable and soft. I usually put it in my hair when its still wet, but you can also put it in while your hair is dry to tame frizz and flyaways. It's a must have product if you ever hav
