The semester is over and my final exams are written and done. I can officially say that I survived my second year of nursing school. This whole year went by so quickly, I'm a little disoriented by it. But it was stressful, amazing and endlessly fascinating all at once. It kind of blows my mind to think about how much I've learned in the past 2 years and how much I have left to learn. The further I get into my studies, the more I love my career choice and the more I know I made the right choice. I've reached the part of my life where 50% of me is excited for the future and 50% of me wants everything to slow down. One half of me just can't wait to graduate and start working as a nurse, moving out and getting my own place and basically just beginning my life as an independent, working woman. But the other half of me is the scared half. The one that's bewildered at how it's already been 2 years and that in just over a year from now, I'll be writing my exam t

After a nice long winter break, I'm officially back at school. In a way, I'm excited to continue learning and getting closer to finally graduating and being able to work in my field. But on the other hand, and lets face it, I'm for sure not alone with this: I just want to keep being lazy haha. No more late night Netflix binges, sleeping in and spending the day baking at home in my pyjamas. Oh well. I'm determined to make this semester my best yet. Lets add that to my 2016 New Year's Resolutions! Of course, I also want to make time to actually keep updating my blog on a regular basis. So these are my goals for this semester. A visual representation of me writing my exam Hello hello! Once again, as you are reading this, I'm writing my (thankfully final) final exam of the semester! So unfortunately no fantastic post today (maybe). I should have planned ahead for these posts, oops! I promise to make up for it with awesome (and possibly double!) posts for the next week for Blogmas! Hopefully you're all having a great day! Note: Before I begin, for anyone not familiar with the education system in Canada, specifically Quebec, we have 5 years of high school, followed by CEGEP (2 years for a pre-university program or 3 years for a career program), and then university. Why did I choose Nursing. It's a question at least one teacher a semester asks us to share with the class to get to know us. It's a question friends, family and acquaintances ask me all the time. It's a question I ask myself when I'm up at 4am studying or dealing with a particularly difficult clinical assignment. The past year and a half has been a total whirlwind of confusion, leading to choosing this career path, leading to the intense studying that comes with it. So why did I choose Nursing? Oops. So, I've been gone for a long time. Who am I again? Lets catch up. And if you're new, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Dina. I'm 19 years old, and I've just completed my first year of Nursing school. And that was one hell of a ride. Exams are finally done, and I have crawled out of my temporary home made up of heavy textbooks to enjoy a couple months of freedom. So what is this blog? To be honest... I'm not even sure anymore.
